Currently when we include a SharePoint news article link in a yammer post, it displays as a hyperlinked URL in a plain white box - this isn't very engaging or aesthetic. Would it be possible for the article image/thumbnail and title to embed in the Yammer post to give more context to the article the post relates to?17 votes
There's a "Try Yammer for Windows" dialog box that displays in the bottom-right corner of Yammer. When a user closes this box, it should not reappear, at least for the remainder of that Yammer session. Currently, it reappears every time the user navigates to a new page, which is quite annoying as it covers content (group links, delete group button, etc) and needs to be closed each time.8 votes
I’ve confirmed that this is a bug, it’s on our team’s to do list to fix.
Can you match the facebook webcasting feature? We are looking to hold webcasts for people to access via Yammer
Yammer Webcasting21 votes
I won’t say that we’re building this exactly as requested, but we are in the process of building some live video features.
When you include a URL with an `@` symbol in it, such as a link to a Medium post, Yammer doesn't properly parse it as a URL and it subsequently breaks.
My assumption is that it kicks into the 'tag a user' feature, but breaks.
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a message
- Paste a Medium URL in (eg: https://medium.com/@ryanfb/how-i-failed-to-replicate-an-86-million-project-in-1-line-of-code-615048a1f9d0)
- Post message
- Generated link doesn't take you to the correct place (it strips out everything before the `@` symbol)4 votes
Thanks for the feedback! This sounds like a bug. We’re working on some changes to how @ mentioning works, so this should be fixed in time, but in the meantime you can reach out to email@example.com to report the bug.
implement the feature enabling me to check the items added with the [PINNED] function in Yammer group feed via Yammer app for iOS.

Regarding the feature enabling me to check the items added with the [PINNED] function in Yammer group feed via Yammer app for iOS.
■Description_JP (内容):利便性の観点から PC 端末にて Yammer グループフィード内の [PINNED] 機能にて追加されたアイテムを iOS 用 Yammer アプリにて確認する機能の実装を要望します。
From the perspective of convenience, I hope the feature to be implemented that could enable me to confirm along with Yammer app for iOS the additional items through the [PINNED] function in PC's Yammer group feed.
Thanks for the request! We plan to start building this in the next few months.
Videos playing in desktop or iPad safari don't have an option for Picture-in-picture. It would be nice to be able to pop a video out and continue doing something else.2 votes

Thanks for the request! We’re exploring ways to notify the admins and/or members of new group members.
Is there any way the Yammer admins can view and analyse the activities (all) related to a specific Yammer group ?

We will be announcing some new reporting capabilities for Office 365 admins in the next few months and will be making some exciting announcements around reporting in Yammer at Ignite in September.
We would like to use Yammer for social business networking, but we need to have the data location in Japanese due to company's legal restrictions.3 votes
We have a roadmap to build local data residency. General availability for new networks in the EU is slated for mid next year. I don’t have a date for Japan yet, but we are working toward this.
have the same sign-in experience as the other O365 apps especially the experience coupled with MS Authenticator SSO.
At the moment when you sign in through the Yammer! app the experience differs from other O365 apps (i.e. OneDrive, Words and etc.) when ADFS is enabled. The number of times a user has to sign-in (enter username and password) does not promote good user experience.6 votes
We agree. There are a number of factors that make our sign-in experience more complicated than expected but work is currently underway to remove additional complexity and improve our Yammer app login experience.

Is there a way to use the Display name instead of the First Name and Last Name. We have some users who hate their real/legal names. At least in the AD and Offie365 they have the option to change their display name. Is it possible to add this feature in Yammer?27 votes
We have been looking at using the Display Name from ActiveDirectory instead of first and last name, which would have other benefits such as allowing LastName FirstName format in cultures like Chinese, Japanese or Korean.
Currently, for users who don’t like their names, they can also change the displayed names in Yammer (through the gear menu).
Admin should be able to turn off the automatic posting of new members. "Chris Christensen has #joined the gk.no network. Take a moment to welcome Niklas-Aleksander." this message bugs down the posts since we have hundreds joining every week. The users would like to see the content, not all the new joiners. When the network is more mature we could turn it on again.26 votes
Networks with more than 1000 members will not see the #joined message, but it’s currently in place for smaller networks. We’ve heard this request a lot and are currently rethinking our #joined message.
Although the [Shift + Enter] within Skype makes it possible to break a line, I am aware that the Yammer's [Enter], instead of the [Shift + Enter] leading to the post completion, leads to the line break. Due to the difference of behavior between Skype and Yammer mentioned above, there would be a possibility that any users could post their messages mistakenly to Yammer, and therefore I hope the additional feature to be implemented that enables for the Yammer users to perform the line breaks along with the [Enter] or [Shift + Enter].6 votes
Thanks for your feedback! We are planning to make a change to our current behavior such that [enter] or [shift + enter] become new lines.
Convert an internal private group with content to an external group, so that external users can access to this group and its content without recreating a external group and all the content to this external group12 votes
We are looking to align Yammer external group membership to the O365 guest model where, when allowed by the tenant admin, groups don’t need to be created as an external group in order to accept external users.
It would be good to have the private messages work more like ongoing IM conversations, rather than like emails with an original message and a chain of replies.
It would make the sidebar much tidier, as the same person or group would not appear multiple times.2 votes
Thanks for the feedback! We are currently working ways to improve our private messaging experience. Making one feed of conversations with a user is a project we plan to work on.
Skype Broadcast allows us to add a Yammer feed to a LIVE broadcast event page. However, in our case (and I am thinking we are not that different from global companies) the ongoing conversation takes place inside Yammer, so it would make much more sense to reverse that notion and instead allow us to mount LIVE video events inside a Yammer group - as that LIVE ebvent will also be a part of the ever ongoing conversation and not a standalone event.33 votes
Hide Planner link (right side of the page) when the user does not have it enabled in its O365 tenant.
With O365 Groups, the user sees a Planner link on the right side of the Yammer page. This is not desirable when the user does not have Planner enabled on its O365 tenant. Is it possible to find a way to automatically remove this link for these users?2 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! Currently, this is not feasible, but we do plan to have this pending some updates from the Planner team.
inform users when creating a group that 'unlisted' groups do not spool up an associated Office 365 group.
Currently, if a new group is created as 'unlisted', it won't spool up an associated Office 365 group, providing resources like SharePoint, Planner and OneNote.
This isn't spoken about at the group creation stage, and needs to be so that users aren't confused when what they're expecting doesn't happen.3 votes
Hi there, the reason this happens is that there is a privacy concern is that O365 groups does not currently support private unlisted groups. They are working on it though, so we will at some point begin connecting those group types too.
Set up alt enter to do new line and enter to post. Alt Enter will line up with EXCEL to go to new line and hitting enter to post will line up against most platforms for posting. This will stop people posting in error before completing an entry.6 votes
Thanks for your input, we plan to do this, but don’t currently have a timeline.
