Turn off Yammer welcome #joined
Admin should be able to turn off the automatic posting of new members. "Chris Christensen has #joined the gk.no network. Take a moment to welcome Niklas-Aleksander." this message bugs down the posts since we have hundreds joining every week. The users would like to see the content, not all the new joiners. When the network is more mature we could turn it on again.
Networks with more than 1000 members will not see the #joined message, but it’s currently in place for smaller networks. We’ve heard this request a lot and are currently rethinking our #joined message.
Emma Beede, do you still work there? Do you know who is handling this task. Hmmm similar post says "We're considering This" some years ago

As long as it's an admin toggle--we're still a small enough org that the #joined message is helpful versus a burden. I appreciate being able to post a personal Welcome comment with a link to a How To guide for each new user.
We have over 3000 employees but only 876 Yammer members at this point. It's chicken and eg for us, we want to promote it further but people keep complaining about the joined messages. It will be great once we reach 1000, but we should be able to turn it off now. How All Company channel is completely spammed with the joined messages because we have a very high turn over rate (manufacturing company - lots of contractors and transient workers).
We're starting to rollout Yammer and this is the biggest complaint to date! Makes it very difficult to roll out a product when we have zero control of what gets automatically posted and emailed to all users...

What is the current status in this? Your reply is more than a year old!
Yes please, please do this! We are being asked to find a way around it and while we have found a way, we would rather not have to implement that.
Please do this. We are at around 300 users and would really love to see this go away!

Or what about collapsing these posts. eg. you might see one of these join posts a day in your feed, and when you click to see more on that post, it reveals all the other posts where people have joined on that day
Also, this message appear in English even for our French localized Yammer network.
A million times yes! This #joined feature is a massive turnoff for any organization of more than 100 users. It make the signal to noise ratio make people think "why should I use this"?
